ICAEW, SOCPA to co-host annual conference in Riyadh
ICAEW, a leader in the global accounting and finance industry, and the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) will host Saudi Arabia’s fourth accounting and auditing conference at Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh on March 8.
The theme of the one-day conference is “Building Trust: Shaping the Accountancy Profession’s Contribution to Vision 2030.” The event provides a unique platform for business leaders and finance professionals to understand the role that accountancy can play in the success of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Business, finance and government leaders from across the world will come together for a focused day of discussion and debate.
Discussion themes include: “Harnessing the Power of Saudi Arabia’s Youth: Growing the Accountancy Profession from Grassroots,” “Transparency and Ease of Doing Business: A Culture for Growth,” “IFRS Adoption: Gearing up for Transition,” “Roadmap to Successful VAT Implementation for Saudi Arabia,” and “Creating Capacity and Encouraging Trust: A Vision for the Audit Profession.”
Michael Armstrong FCA, ICAEW regional director for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA), said: “The conference is an opportunity to learn from and connect with experts on a variety of topics. It aims to highlight the vital role that can be played by the accounting and auditing profession in supporting the Kingdom’s sustainable economic development as it works toward achieving Vision 2030. We are proud to host this conference with SOCPA and have every confidence it will support the Kingdom’s efforts in creating a robust financial sector.”
Ahmad Almeghames, secretary general, SOCPA, said: “The sustainable economic development on which achieving Vision 2030 depends will require trust and confidence — and this must be underpinned by the accountancy and finance profession. Only where you can have trust in the numbers can you build a strong economy. We are delighted to be working with ICAEW to support the profession in the Kingdom.”
