Aston Martin Owners Club opens in Jeddah

-

JEDDAH: Eighty-one years ago, the first Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) opened on May 25, 1935 at the Grafton Hotel, Tottenham Court Road, London with 20 or so people in attendance.

Now Jeddah is to host its own officially sanctioned club. The AMOC is the world’s oldest, largest and only officially recognized, membership club for Aston Martin owners and enthusiasts.

AMOC Saudi Arabia is only the second site in the Kingdom to be granted this authorization for an exclusive automobile/ sports club.

The club was pre-launched on March 15 in the Tujjar Jeddah Lounge, opposite the new soon-toopen Aston Martin flagship showroom with AMOC-SA Lounge at Tahlia Street, Jeddah.

The Jeddah branch is to be the 51st AMOC and has been sanctioned and approved by the Saudi Arabia Motor Federation.

“The AMOC-SA Lounge has been an enormous financial investment from Haji Husein Alireza Ltd.,” said Sheikh Ali Alireza, CEO of HHA Ltd.

“It is an acknowledgement of the support extended toward the initiative to develop a lively interaction between Aston Martin and its enthusiastic car owners. The ethos behind the club is to build a platform that instils a sense of personal ownership of the marque,” said Alireza.

“Aston Martin has truly established itself in the Kingdom. The timeless iconic nature of the design, its impeccable road manners backed up with racebred power and handling delivers a range of driving experiences from docile urban car to very rapid long- distance sports touring car. It’s a marque for all reasons and all seasons,” he added.

Invitees to the launch will be able to test-drive the latest Aston Martins, including the eagerly anticipated DB11, the first of the “double digit” Aston Martins available to clients.

The futuristic DB10 was only ever used in the James Bond movie “Spectre.”

During the event, guests will also briefed about the club and its ethos and get an opportunity to become a member after establishing the membership criteria.

All Aston owners get a chance to socialize and network with each other and share their mutual passion for the marque.

“There is a host of benefits of becoming a member of the AMOCSA,” said Mark Pocock, brand general manager.

“Apart from the pleasure of networking with fellow Aston Martin enthusiasts, members will be invited to quarterly events, to monthly outings in current models, social and international events. These exclusive Aston Martin-themed events will be conducted at all our flagship locations including Jeddah, Riyadh and Alkhobar,” he added.
