Subway KSA celebrates 2016 achievemen­ts

Shamel Food Company, the master franchisee of Subway restaurant­s in Saudi Arabia, hosted a ceremony at the Movenpick Hotel in Riyadh to celebrate the accomplish­ments of the Subway team in the Kingdom.

Board members of Shamel Food Company and its strategic partners gathered on May 3 to receive two awards from Joseph Tabet, director of Subway Internatio­nal — Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan (MENAP).

Prince Mohammad bin Nawaf, board member of Shamel Food Company and strategic adviser, was awarded two trophies.

The first trophy — “The Most Units Sold” — was for selling a record number of sandwiches and salads in the Middle East and Africa markets in 2016.

The second award recognized Subway as a “Market Leader” across the MENAP region in 2016.

Tabet congratula­ted Shamel Food and Subway for their efforts and contributi­on to the Saudi market.

Mohsen Mousa Adeeb, CEO of Shamel Food Company, expressed his happiness and gratitude to the Subway KSA team and mentioned the team’s responsibi­lity toward its customers and stake- holders in the Kingdom.

“We take full pride and responsibi­lity in delivering top quality products and our corporate social responsibi­lity to our customers and the beloved Kingdom,” he said.

Subway operates 135 outlets across Saudi Arabia. The company aims to achieve the 200 store milestone by 2020. Subway KSA is part of the global Subway chain, founded by the late Fred Deluca back in 1965. Today the sandwich chain has the most number of outlets worldwide in over 44,300 locations spread across more than 110 countries in six continents.
