Toshi scores perfect 30 on the way to its fourth Team of Week award

JEDDAH: Toshi tightened its grip on No. 1 after clinching Team of the Week honors on perfect score of 30 points during the 17th session in the OFBC Friday Afternoon League Season 6 at the Iceland Bowling Center here.

Toshi zeroed Youngsters 20- 0 on total pinfalls of 2,024 and rank points of 10- 3 on a day where four out of the five matches ended in shutout victories for the winners.

Surprising­ly, the once struggling Shadow Bowlers were one of them, as they dealt five-time Team of the Week Expendabow­ls a 20-0 drubbing on total pinfalls of 1,9161,596 and rank points of 5-2. Shadow Bowlers ended the day on 25 points.

Velocity Strikers were the day’s second- best point- getter on 29 following their 20- 0 blanking of Arci- 5 on total pinfalls of 1,9781,517 and rank points of 9- 1.

RTJ Transient House tallied 28 points for the week, trouncing tailender SGH Bowling Group 20-0 (1,971-1,712 8-4).

Elsewhere, Al-Tayyer United Contractin­g Co. was sent crashing back to earth after its perfect grand slam the previous week, taking a 12-8 defeat by erstwhile No. 1 Nilobabes.

Al-Tayyer’s day, however, was not all that bad thanks to Carmen Duma who put away the ladies’ Bowler of the Week award on 554.

Cesar Pagtalunan and Jose Bayag Jr. shot 561 and 507 respective­ly at the helm of a Toshi charge that also featured 492 from Vivian Sacramed and 464 from team captain Ryan Liwagon.

It was the fourth award for Toshi which goes into the final week of eliminatio­ns leading by 12.5 points over its nearest pursuer.

Men’s Bowler of the Week Rhyan Tasic led Velocity Strikers on 570 with Toto Lim on 522, Jaime “Paco” Flores on 447 and Vangie Lim on 439.

RTJ got a lift from a pair of 500s – 548 and 503 from Conrad Baltazar and Ed Cordova. Team captain Rudy “RJ” Jamon added 459.

For Shadow Bowlers it was the veteran Hadi Pacheco who struck hardest on 553. The other scorers were Jhun Ejanda 501, Edwin Agustin 436 and Kathy Tina 426.

Nap Patayan and Epoy Santos took charge at Nilobabes on 520 and 504, while Sharmaine Patayan had 480 and Susan Patayan 435.
