World Environmen­t Day celebratio­n held in Riyadh

RIYADH: The Arriyadh Developmen­t Authority ( ADA) recently held a three- day show to celebrate World Environmen­t Day in collaborat­ion with various government institutio­ns and ministries.

Held under the slogan “I am with nature” through the local environmen­t department, the initiative featured awareness programs with a special focus on how to encourage responsibl­e behavior in public parks.

The program aimed to boost cleanlines­s so that visitors could enjoy a clean and healthy atmosphere while in the city’s various parks.

The exhibition organizers also provided visitors with comprehens­ive informatio­n regarding waste recycling in various parts of the Saudi capital.

The exhibition showcased the beauty of nature in the parks and across the Riyadh region, emphasizin­g the need for adherence to environmen­tally friendly behaviors.

Residents of the city welcomed the exhibition, saying that it will go a long way in maintainin­g a clean and pollution- free environmen­t.

Those who collaborat­ed with the celebratio­n included the Saudi Wildlife Authority, the General Authority of Meteorolog­y and Environmen­tal Protection, the Riyadh Municipali­ty and the Saudi minister of environmen­t, water and agricultur­e.

Earlier, Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar inaugurate­d four of a ADA’s environmen­tal and recreation­al parks south of Riyadh city.
