Saudi, Indian businessmen open schools in Buraidah, Alkhobar
A group of Saudi and Indian businessmen and educationists has launched several educational initiatives, including schools, in an attempt to promote education in Saudi Arabia. The initiatives have been jointly launched by Ibrahim Al-Qayid, chairman of Bait Al-Salah International Company for education; Sultan Salman Al-Saady, chairman of Saady Group of Companies; and Nadeem Tarin, an educationist and philanthropist.
Speaking at an event to mark the 70th Independence Day of India in Riyadh, Tarin said: “The Noran International School in Buraidah, and Dhahran Buds International School (DBIS) in Alkhobar are the two new educational institutions, which have been established by the group recently.”
He said the group “strives to promote education, especially for Saudi and expatriate children. We started two flagship schools a few years ago — Dunes International School in the Eastern Province and Daratassalam International Delhi Public School in Riyadh. We also support students carry out philanthropic activities and sponsor various scientific, academic, national and professional events in the community,” Tarin added.
Awad Al-Qahtani, DBIS chief operating officer, said: “The school, which is the first of its kind for kids in Saudi Arabia, has a cumulative enrolment of over 200 (pre-nursery, nursery, and grades 1 & 2) students under the supervision of American and Arab teachers.”
“Plans are afoot to open about 20 more branches of the school across the Kingdom and provide quality education for our children,” he added.
The group recently established The Graduate School of Professionalism (GSP) in Riyadh, for enhancing the skills of professionals. It will be offering courses in areas like finance, marketing, computer science, languages, entrepreneurship and many more.
Alsayed Ismail Almradny, GSP chief executive officer, said: “The GSP is a refined institution, which will go a long way in developing job skills among the youngsters. It has tied up with several international training centers including universities in the US and Egypt.”
The GSP is certified by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia. GSP is a training and education facility with four laboratories, more than 100 computer systems and six speciallydesigned halls for cultural programs.
