UberPITCH returns to KSA to help foster entrepreneurship

-

Uber has announced the launch of UberPITCH 2017, in partnership with ArabNet. UberPITCH is a pan-regional campaign that spans across five countries and eight cities, and which will help create a pitch opportunity to entrepreneurs, connecting great ideas to the right audience — all at the tap of a button.

The UberPITCH campaign last year saw 12 entrepreneurs across the region secure sponsorship from Uber for the ArabNet Digital Summit.

The campaign will be available in Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. From 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sept. 30, selected entrepreneurs across the region will have the opportunity to request an UberPITCH ride, where they will get to put themselves forward to pitch their business idea to a judge. Entrepreneurs will be given seven minutes to pitch their startup idea, followed by seven minutes of feedback from the investor industry leader.

The startup with the best idea will be sponsored by Uber at the ArabNet Digital Summit 2018. The sponsorship will include the production of a one-minute video to pitch their startup, exhibition space, branding and match-up sessions with key industry leaders, who could help them take their business to the next level.

The company has given a step by step guide on how UberPITCH works: Download the Uber app for iPhone, Android or Blackberry.

Submit an application for your startup here before 5 p.m. on Sept. 20.

If you qualify, you will receive a notification via e-mail containing a promocode to unlock the UberPITCH ride option.

From 12 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sept. 30, request

OOOOUberPITCH for the chance to pitch your idea. If connected, you will have seven minutes to pitch and seven minutes for feedback. Rides are free and will start and end at your pickup location.

If you do not secure a pitch on your first attempt, keep trying! Demand will be high. Selected startups will be announced Oct. 4.
