57 students benefit from SADAFCO’s internship program

-

Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Company (SADAFCO) has announced the completion of its 2017 Summer Internship Program (SIP).

A number of high school and university students experienced what it is like working in a dairy and food company and learned vital practical skills.

The program was launched in 2016 in line with the Ministry of Labour’s Labor and Social Development’s vision and the Human Resources Development Fund.

“The internship program shows SADAFCO’s commitment to supporting Vision 2030 through developing the skills of the future generations and giving them the capabilities they need to compete in the modern job market,” a press release said.

Wout Matthijs, chief executive, SADAFCO, said: “The Summer Internship Program underlines our commitment toward young Saudis by providing them with the opportunity to engage in a highly beneficial work environment where they can build upon their academic experience and support their career aspirations.”

He added: “Throughout the internship, students were getting acquainted with the values SADAFCO works to uphold and gained expertise from interacting with our employees, all of which should assist them in setting a future path and goals for themselves.”

A total of 57 young men and women took part in the internship after applying through Saifi’s website. During the one-month program, students learned the essence of team work, self-development, time management and how to take responsibility. To guarantee that interns received a beneficial experience, SADAFCO ensured that both trainees and training managers undertook a “training process survey” on Saifi’s website, which allowed them to share their feedback on the program and lessons learned.

Students were placed at different locations in the Kingdom and got assigned to different departments according to their educational major and skills. The SIP was managed and supervised by the Employee Services team at SADAFCO. Upon completion of the program, trainees were invited to a farewell event to meet the CEO and received their program certificates.

Established in 1976, SADAFCO is a leader in dairy and foodstuff manufacturing, importing, distributing and marketing in Saudi Arabia and has established a loyal following in the food and beverage industry across the GCC region.
