services. Furthermore, one of the key activities is organizing delegation trips in various fields.

“GESALO is proud that it has served numerous companies and business people over the last decades,” says Oliver Oehms, delegate of German Industry & Commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen. He said that “the German companies are and continue to be reliable partners for Saudi Arabia in the years to come.”

“GESALO is fully committed to offer its global network and resources to facilitate mutually beneficial trade relations between Germany and Saudi Arabia,” he added.

Referring to the progressively growing relations between the Kingdom and Germany, Oehms said that “from Nov. 11 to 15, German small and medium enterprise (SMEs) will feature market potentials during a five-day trip to Riyadh with a focus on water and wastewater management.” Moreover, a highranking business delegation of the German State Bavaria will also visit the Kingdom by end November this year.

In order to further connect businesses over the next 40 years, GESALO will continue to focus its attention on training and support of young local talents. During an event in September that was initiated by GESALO and hosted by the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce, around 80 Saudi students met with representatives of leading German companies such as V-LINE GROUP, Siemens Ltd., MAN Diesel & Turbo Saudi Arabia LLC and DETASAD to discuss job and internship opportunities offered by German enterprises in the Kingdom.

As a result, GESALO implemented a job portal, the so called “JobXchange”. Prospective Saudi talents can gain information about job and internship opportunities offered by German companies in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, they can publish their CV to present themselves to German enterprises.

Furthermore, GESALO is going to further link the German and Saudi Startup community. Taking this into account, Saudi entrepreneurs supported by the BADIR Program for Technology Incubators were invited to the “Startup Germany 2017,” a start-up roadshow through Berlin, Hamburg and Dortmund, which is connecting 45 entrepreneurs from 15 countries and offering a platform to present innovative business ideas to renowned German companies, such as SAP, Lufthansa and Thyssenkrupp.

On top of that, GESALO will particularly support female founders, initiatives and projects by visiting Sheworks and Yatooq. “We were thrilled to discover how actively female entrepreneurs are driving the startup scene. We are more than happy to find suitable partners for these businesswomen in Germany, and I am sure we will meet nothing but curiosity and interest back home,” underlines Delegate Oehms. In connection with the booming startup scene, GESALO aims to further push and establish the label “Made in Saudi Arabia”, next to the worldfamous “Made in Germany” label.
