Vidal dreaming of glory

- ARAB NEWS

Bayern Munich head into tonight’s Champions League clash against Celtic with only one thing on their minds — victory in the final next May.

Considering the German giants recently sacked Carlo Ancelotti and lost 3-0 to Group B leaders Paris Saint-Germain, the idea they are focused on ultimate glory may seem a bit far-fetched. Arturo Vidal claimed, however, that for Bayern nothing less lifting the trophy will do.

“I always respect our rivals but Bayern is obliged to be in the next round. That’s normal for us,” the Chilean midfielder (pictured) said.

“The challenge for us is to actually get to the final and win it.

“PSG are a main rival and the leader of this group.”

Now with former boss Jupp Heynckes at the helm Bayern head into the home match against Celtic knowing that only three points will do and looking to bounce back from the thrashing they suffered at the hands of PSG.

Robert Lewandowski, who has been in fine form scoring six goals in five matches at the Allianz Arena this season, said Heynckes had already made an impact after just a week back.

“He wants us to focus on the details. In training sessions, every pass and every shot is important,” the Polish striker said.

“We have to remain focused. We need to go forward together as a team and have fun.”
