Ministry to prepare talented people with disabilities for labor market
RIYADH: The Ministry of Labor and Social Development signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al-Iraa Society to prepare gifted and talented people with disabilities for the labor market.
Social Security Undersecretary Ibrahim Al Shabi and board chairman Ammar Boukas represented the ministry during the signing ceremony in the Saudi capital in the presence of Minister Ali Al-Ghafees.
Under the MoU, the association will sponsor and train talented persons with various disabilities to raise their level of skills and knowledge, which are necessary in the local labor market.
The agreement is part of the ministry’s programs to support talented persons with disabilities in the private sector through the development of policies, regulations, procedures and mechanisms to provide suitable employment opportunities for them.
In doing so, the ministry aims to promote equal opportunities and equal treatment by applying laws and legislation as well as occupational safety on behalf of persons with disabilities.
The ministry’s program on occupational safety is in partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF).
HADAF seeks to provide qualified manpower to work in the private sector through the funding of programs that fit the needs of the labor market, and to do studies addressing the barriers to employment.
