Jimmy:‘England frustrated’

- ARAB NEWS

That was the message from Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes whose side go into the clash at the

Allianz Arena with the humiliation at the hands of the moneybags club still fresh in the memory.

Dani Alves, Edinson Cavani and Neymar all scored at the Parc de Princes as PSG made an emphatic statement of intent.

The chastening defeat led to panic mode in Munich — the German giants firing Carlo Ancelotti and replacing him with Heynckes as head coach. Since then, Bayern have won ten of their 11 games and once again look like one of the best sides in Europe.

With both teams through to the last 16, Bayern need to beat PSG by four goals at the Allianz Arena to grab top spot in the group off PSG.

But for Heynckes, whatever the result, it is important that Bayern lay down a marker for the knockout stages in the new year. LONDON: James Anderson admitted that England have it all to do if they are to save the second Ashes Test in Adelaide.

The tourists were bowled out for 227 after Australia’s first innings of 442 for eight declared. And having not elected to enforce the follow-on Australia started today on 53 for four, encouraging for the England attack but still giving the hosts a 268run lead.

And Anderson said the England dressing room was a frustrated one, having not got the runs needed to put any sort of pressure on the Baggy Greens.

“We’re a long way behind in the game so we can’t over-attack in the field,” the pace ace said. “We’ve got an outside chance. We’ve got a lot of work to do.

“We gave it absolutely everything and we’ve come away with four wickets, which we’re delighted with. We attacked where we could, bowled as full as we could and we got the rewards.

“We’ve got some very frustrated players in the dressing room. We should have got more runs than we did.”

Even if England do end up, as many expect, losing this Test they did at least gain some positives from a final session in which they took four wickets and made the Australian batting line-up look fragile. Key men David Warner (14) and Steve Smith (six) both went cheaply with the tourists’ attack running in with intent and energy.
