The event will be held at the Conference and Convention Center of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

The announcement by the GEA and El-Roumy herself sent fans into a frenzy. Those in the Saudi capital were excited, while those in Jeddah and other cities were disappointed.

“See you in Riyadh. Dear fans in Jeddah, it is really hard to make it this year. Next year Insha’Allah we will meet,” the veteran singer tweeted.

Men who wanted to attend El-Roumy’s concert also had a word of assurance from the official Twitter account of Roznamah, the GEA’s entertainment calendar.

A fan, Ahmed Al-Asiri tweeted: “Why is it only for girls, I want to attend as well.”

“Hey Ahmed, stay tuned for the upcoming concert, it will be for men only,” replied @Roznamah_sa.

Tickets for El-Roumy’s show are available online, starting at SR350 ($93) and going up to SR3,000.

El-Roumi, a UN Goodwill Ambassador, is considered as one of the most celebrated and successful Arab artists.
