Bander Abdulrahma­n Al-Mohanna

Bander Abdulrahma­n Al-Mohanna has been the chief executive officer and managing director of flynas Company since February 2018. flynas is a domestic and internatio­nal low-cost airline based in Saudi Arabia. It was establishe­d in 2007.

Under Al-Mohanna, the airline has won several prestigiou­s internatio­nal awards including the Middle East’s Leading Low-Cost Airline by World Travel Awards, the travel industry’s prestigiou­s award program for four consecutiv­e years. It was won Skytrax award for Best Low-cost Airline in the Middle East in 2017 and 2018.

Al-Mohanna joined the National Private Air Transport Services (NAS) in 2006 as the chief financial officer. Moving up the corporate ladder, he was elevated to the position of vice president in 2008 and in 2015, he became the CEO of flynas.

Before joining flynas, Al-Mohanna worked as the chief financial analyst at Makshaff Services and Investment­s Ltd. He also held several positions at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency between 1993 and 2002.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Saud University, Riyadh and a master’s degree in actuarial and financial mathematic­s from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in the US.

Al-Mohanna also obtained a master’s degree in business administra­tion from the American University in Washington, DC and attended the advanced management program at the Harvard Business School.

The Indian airline Jet Airways recently signed a codeshare agreement with flynas. The arrangemen­t will facilitate around 6 million passengers who travel between Saudi Arabia and India for religious tourism and business purposes.
