Richard Gere

Richard Gere was trending on Google as the US actor became a father again at the age of 69. His spokesman confirmed the news, but did not elaborate on the baby’s name, place or date of birth.

Gere’s wife, Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva, had made the pregnancy public in September with a post on Instagram, which has since been deleted.

The photo showed the Dalai Lama placing his hand on her stomach with Gere, a practicing Buddhist and friend of the Tibetan spiritual leader, standing by her side.

“Receiving a blessing from our precious soon to come... we couldn’t announce it before telling His Holiness the Dalai Lama,” the post read.

The “Pretty Woman” actor married Silva in April 2018. The child is Gere’s second — he has an 18-year- old son called Homer from his 11-year marriage to model and actress Carey Lowell, which ended in 2013. Silva also has a child from a previous marriage, a son named Albert.
