Dubai ruler meets Saudi Shoura Council delegation

Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum on Tuesday received Speaker of the Saudi Shoura Council Dr. Abdullah Al-Asheikh accompanie­d by his delegation.

The meeting took place in the presence of the speaker of the UAE’s Federal National Council, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al-Qubaisi, and other national assembly members.

Al-Asheikh conveyed the greetings of King Salman and the crown prince to Sheikh Mohammed, the Emirati leadership and people.

Sheikh Mohammed noted the solid brotherly ties between the two countries, stressing the importance of developing them to serve the interests of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and preserve the security and stability of the region.

He also pointed to the key role of parliament­s and Shoura councils in the region and countries around the world, in promoting increased understand­ing between nations.

Al-Asheikh also praised the pioneering region-wide Emirati parliament­ary experience.

Earlier, Al-Qubaisi applauded the ties between Riyadh and the UAE, as well as the establishm­ent of the Saudi-UAE Coordinati­on Council to cement bilateral cooperatio­n between the two

Gulf states, and their firm position against all malign attempts to destabiliz­e the national and social security of any of the GCC countries.
