Nadhmi Al-Nasr

Nadhmi Al-Nasr is the CEO of the NEOM megacity project. Al-Nasr began his career with Saudi Aramco in 1978 after obtaining his BS in chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. At Aramco, Al-Nasr spent his first three years in engineering services.

In 1981, he began working on the execution of the Kingdom’s Master Gas System — the largest industrial project of its kind at the time, where he divided his work between Houston and on site at the Uthmaniyah Gas Plant. The program was completed in 1984. In 1991, he began managing the massive and aggressive crude expansion program in the Ghawar oilfield, ensuring the Kingdom’s ability to fill the production gap caused by the loss of oil output from Iraq and Kuwait during the Gulf War. In March 2014, Al-Nasr was appointed by royal decree to serve as a member on the advisory board of the Supreme Economic Council, and in July 2014, became a member of the board of trustees of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue.

On the occasion of Saudi National Day, he said this day marks the start of work on the $500 billion NEOM megacity. Al-Nasr added: “We are pleased to announce that

NEOM has almost finalized the establishment of strategic plans for this project and its various economic sectors, and we are ready to begin their actual implementation.

“We are willing to work day and night, so that the coming year, 2020, will be the beginning of the actual momentum of the NEOM projects, embodying the Saudi endeavor to build a promising future for

the country.”
