MILESTONE V-LINE marks anniversary with conference, party

-

“The future won’t wait. It starts today.” This quote of Detlef Daues, chief executive of V-LINE EUROPE GmbH, best describes the spirit of the user conference and anniversary party, which happened Sept. 4-6 to celebrate the 30/40 anniversary of V-LINE.

Daues said: “Thirty years VLINE, 40 years’ experience in MRO supply — we took this as a chance to explore the future internally as well as with our customers. Forty years in MRO supply and a strong belief that big data will readjust the ownership within the supply chain: We will make sure to not give up our pole position in this industry.” During the three-day program titled “User Conference: Spare Parts Inventory Planning and Optimization,” topics like vested outsourcing and digital MRO supply chain orchestration were discussed.

Phillip Slater, MRO spare parts optimization expert; Jeff Scott, vice president of business development at SMART Software; Kate Vitasek, educator at University of Tennessee; and Gary Cohen, executive coach, gave their keynotes addresses.

The diverse audience consisted of international V-LINE management. Some of V-LINE’s biggest customers came especially from Saudi Arabia to jointly discuss current and future topics in the field of MRO.

“Different perspectives and insights made the exchange really fruitful. I am thankful and proud that we were able to attract so many participants especially from Saudi Arabia to discuss about our future topics. This underlines our commitment to Vision 2030 of Saudi Arabia,” said Shahzad Haider, chief executive of V-LINE MDDLE EAST.

More than 400 guests were welcomed in Hannover, where they enjoyed an evening full of varying speeches, good food and stimulating chats. Daues also made a big announcement that from November, he will take up the role of chairman of the group, while Tilman Mieseler will be the new CEO of VLINE EUROPE. Daues established V-LINE EUROPE GmbH in the late 1970s to participate in the industrial surge of Saudi Arabia. He then moved to the Kingdom where he spent several years striving to identify what value a small German trading company could create for the country. V-LINE has since that time developed into a group of companies employing more than 200 people worldwide with nearly 150 million euros ($205 million) of revenues. V-LINE EUROPE GmbH, which is headquartered near Hannover in Germany, offers end-to-end supply chain solutions in 20 different countries primarily in the Middle East, through its Saudi Arabia subsidiary, and also via its customer service centers in other GCC countries, the US, Mexico and Brazil.
