Rotana Khalijia wins big in Sayidaty’s Ramadan survey
Rotana Khalijia has won several laurels in an annual Ramadan survey conducted by Sayidaty magazine — the most popular publication in the Arab world.
This survey, considered the largest and most trustworthy in the region, covers top Ramadan TV series, programs, hosts and stars. What adds to the credibility of this survey is the fact that 50 professionals — critics, TV writers, producers and media figures — joined forces to conduct it. A public vote on Sayidaty’s online platforms also helped the popular women’s magazine compile the survey results.
Abdallah Al-Mudefeir, host of “Al-Liwan,” produced and aired on Rotana Khalijia, was acclaimed as the best Khaliji variety host for Ramadan 2019. Al-Mudefeir hosted a number of eminent guests that received high rankings and increased the channel’s viewership.
Rotana Khalijia’s “Shabab AlBomb” — ranked first — was declared the best comedy series. It came as no surprise as the hit show continues to attract a record number of TV and online viewers. Renowned Kuwaiti actress Hayat Al-Fahad was voted as the best Khaliji actress for her role in “Hodoud Al-Char” — a hit drama series that ran on Rotana Khalijia during Ramadan 2019.
These annual wins strengthen Rotana Khalijia’s position as a favorite destination for Khaliji audience in general and Saudis in particular, as the channel makes it a point to offer them a diversified grid to fit their likings.
The entertainment channel, which was originally launched as a music channel, now airs cultural, folkloric, musical and sports programming, talk shows as well as exclusive premium series.
