Hana Kimura, a professional Japanese wrestler and a Netflix star who appeared in a reality show “Terrace House,” has died at the age of 22.
Before her death she published social media posts about being cyberbullied. The cause of her death was not revealed but some older pictures on her social media accounts were images of self-harm. Her most recent Instagram story featured a photo of her with her cat and the caption: “Goodbye.” Social media users came together to speak out against cyberbullying and her death. @we_are_stardom tweeted: “We are very sorry to report that our Hana Kimura has passed away. Please be respectful and allow some time for things to process and keep your thoughts and prayers with her family and friends. We appreciate your support during this difficult time.”
@WrestlingTravel said: “Hana Kimura was one of the first women to wrestle on a Wrestle Kingdom show, working in front of a packed Tokyo Dome this January. A whole, history-making career was ahead of her, 22-years-old. Heartbreaking doesn’t even begin to cover it.” @JoeyRyanOnline tweeted: “I couldn’t imagine dealing with hate on social media at 22. I can barely handle it now. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.” @realsuyung said: “I will always love and miss you, my friend. You are my little sister.
The Swanns send our love and condolences to Hana Kimura, her family, and loved ones. I will never forget you. So much I want to say … my heart is broken.”
