Saudi Ara­bia’s deputy per­ma­nent rep­re­sen­ta­tive to the UN in New York

Qas­sim Gov. Prince Faisal bin Mishaal on Sun­day chaired a meet­ing to study the es­tab­lish­ment of Ab­dul­lah Al-Othaim So­cial City to pro­mote and sup­port so­cial and char­ity work in the re­gion. The meet­ing was at­tended by the un­der­sec­re­tary of re­gion, Ab­dul­rah­man Al-Waz­zan; the as­sis­tant un­der­sec­re­tary for devel­op­ment af­fairs, Ab­dul­rah­man Al-Saawi; busi­ness­man Ab­dul­lah Al-Othaim; and a num­ber of gov­ern­ment agen­cies that took part vir­tu­ally.

Prince Faisal was briefed on the steps to es­tab­lish Ab­dul­lah Al-Othaim So­cial City, which in­cludes build­ings, parks, pedes­trian paths, gyms, and recre­ation halls. He lis­tened to an ex­pla­na­tion from Al-Othaim about the de­tails of the city, which aims to serve low-in­come peo­ple, the el­derly, or­phans, peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties, fam­i­lies of pris­on­ers, and the ill.

Al-Othaim ex­pressed his ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the gover­nor’s fol­low-up, en­cour­age­ment, and sup­port for all the so­cial work that served the re­gion and its peo­ple.

Prince Faisal praised Al-Othaim’s ini­tia­tive to es­tab­lish a so­cial city in the re­gion, ex­press­ing his ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the benev­o­lence of the Saudi peo­ple to­ward pro­mot­ing and devel­op­ing so­cial and char­i­ta­ble works.

Saudi Ara­bia, as pres­i­dent of the G20 this year, is com­mit­ted to help­ing address the global, eco­nomic, so­cial and fi­nan­cial im­pact of the COVID-19 epi­demic. Dr. Khaled Man­zlawiy
