The engagement of Egyptian folklore singer Hassan Shakosh has been called off less than a month after it was announced. Shakosh revealed the news of his engagement almost two weeks ago, sharing pictures of himself and his fiancee at a small celebration. Unfortunately, this joy of finding a life partner did not last for long.

The news was first confirmed by the brideto-be’s father, who posted on Facebook: “Allah has decreed it and what He willed has happened. All thanks to Allah that everything was cleared soon, and forgive my beloved for deciding to call off your engagement and not giving you the chance to think and decide yourself, God will grant you the best.” Ibrahim Kamba, Shakosh’s business manager, confirmed the news with no further details. Fans of the singer and other Twitter users consoled him following the sad news. @Nagla58604609 tweeted “Maybe it’s for the best.” @AbeerAlnooh said: “May Allah grant them both the best, she a better man, and he a better woman.”
