US fashion model Gigi Hadid and former One Direction singer Zayn Malik have welcomed the birth of a “healthy and beautiful” baby girl.

In an announcement on Twitter, Hadid, 25, and her English partner Malik, 27, shared photos of their new arrival.

Malik posted a picture of his hand holding his baby’s hand and in an accompanying caption, said: “Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful. To try to put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, and thankful for the life we will have together x.”

On Instagram, Hadid shared a photo of her baby’s hand holding Malik’s thumb with the caption, “Our girl joined us Earthside this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love.” On Thursday, the couple’s names were trending on social media as fans offered their congratulations.
