Pak­istan cel­e­brates OIC 50th an­niver­sary

Pak­istan’s Cen­ter for Strate­gic and In­ter­na­tional Stud­ies or­ga­nized an on­line cel­e­bra­tion on Thurs­day to mark the 50th an­niver­sary of the es­tab­lish­ment of the Or­ga­ni­za­tion of Is­lamic Co­op­er­a­tion (OIC).

OIC Sec­re­tary-Gen­eral Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen said the or­ga­ni­za­tion will con­tinue to ad­vance is­sues of con­cern for its mem­ber states, in­clud­ing the Pales­tinian cause, the Jammu and Kash­mir con­flict, the NagornoKar­abakh dis­puted ter­ri­tory, the hu­man­i­tar­ian cri­sis fac­ing the Ro­hingya in Myan­mar, and other such im­por­tant is­sues.” He af­firmed the OIC’s com­mit­ment to pro­mot­ing Is­lamic val­ues of tol­er­ance, co­ex­is­tence, in­ter­faith di­a­logue, cul­tural har­mony and mu­tual un­der­stand­ing.
