Remi Weekes’ terrifying horror movie “His House” was released on Oct. 30, one night before Halloween on Netflix to give it an extra scary twist. Written and directed by Weekes, the movie is produced by New Regency, Vertigo Entertainment, and Starchild Picture in association with BBC Films. The movie will move viewers to tears. It opens with the scene of a young refugee couple, played by Sope Dirisu as Bol and Wunmi Mosaku as Rial, fleeing war-torn South Sudan. We then move to their arrival at a refugee center and their release from detention. They move into a shabby house in a small English town that is assigned to them by an officer.

Bol and Rial are struggling to settle into their new lives when they become aware of a menacing presence lurking inside their house. They start to renovate the house when they discover a hole behind the wallpaper in the living room. That is when the disturbing events begin, and they each take their own approach to deal with whatever is haunting their house, slowly revealing the couple’s past trauma.

Weekes delivers a beautifully crafted horror movie.
