LuLu hosts ‘Fishtival,’ a feast of fish & seafood
Regional retailer LuLu last week hosted its annual fish and seafood festival, titled “Fishtival,” showcasing a range of offers on fresh fish and exotic seafood delights from different parts of the world. The festival was virtually inaugurated by Dr. Ali Al-Shaikhi, CEO of the National Fisheries Development Program (NFDP), and Mosleh AlZobaidi, vice president of NFDP, in the presence of Shehim Mohammed, director of LuLu Hypermarkets Saudi Arabia, together with government authorities and other LuLu officials.
“We have always taken pride in offering fresh and high-quality seafood,” said Mohammed. “‘Fishtival’ is a proof of LuLu’s commitment to bringing the widest range of fish and shellfish to our multi-ethic customer base. We proudly support our local produce, as we are one of the biggest promoters of Samaq-certified products, which highlight fresh and cooked seafood that are promoted by the national aquaculture product certification and labeling program of the Saudi Aquaculture Society under the guidance of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture,” he added.
LuLu showcased more than 100 varieties of fish and seafood in fresh, frozen and dried cat
egories, from Norwegian salmon to hamour, Nile perch, lobster, clams, prawns, sea bream, tilapia, red snapper, sea bass, parrot fish, and much more.
Apart from the seafood offerings in the wet section, LuLu sold fish dishes at the bakery and hot food stations. Fish sarciado, Amritsari fish, grilled prawns, fish tikka, charcoal grilled fish, fish bun, prawn pizza, tuna puff, fish biryani, sweet and sour fish, and fish masala fry were the main attractions at these counters.
The offers were available until Nov. 21 across all LuLu stores in the Kingdom.
With 196 stores operating worldwide, LuLu aims to provide and sustain the supply of global products at the best rates.
