#Mother’sDay
Mother’s Day is celebrated around the world on the second Sunday of May every year. This year it has been celebrated on May 9.
Mother’s Day was first celebrated in the US when Anaa Jarvis wanted a day to honor her mother because she herself has expressed such a desire. From then on it was picked up by people around the world.
With the second year of the coronavirus pandemic, people have been going the extra mile to celebrate Mother’s Day. People on Twitter celebrated the day by tweeting heartwarming wishes to their mothers. @jstnllzn said: “Happy Mother’s Day ma, thank you & sorry for everything, I love you.”
@cravityspew said: “Who needs a super hero when I have Mom? To all the Super Moms.”
@Darwinplatform1 tweeted: “Mother’s Day is a reminder to all of us of the love that is truly unconditional and selfless — wishing all mothers a Happy
Mother’s Day in advance.” @TrishKurralinga tweeted: “To all the Mothers out there, especially the Mums who do not hear from their children tomorrow, have a relaxing day for Mother’s Day & treat yourself either to a break or, do your next favorite activity &be kind to yourselves. Happy Mother’s Day.”
@BettyMKyallo tweeted: “Happy Mother’s Day to me and all the Mums on the TL. Blessing upon you and I. Heading out for a treat.” @peters_malcolm said: “My beautiful mother who I loved very much. My first Mother’s Day without you knowing you are with Dad gives me peace.” @KokyAnyidoho tweeted: “I was not spared by my friend Nana Aba when I forgot to publicly wish my female friends well, on, International Women’s Day. I am therefore wishing ALL mothers a blessed Mothers Day in advance. May the soul of my late mom continue to rest in peace. A special one to Nana Aba.”
@nsgov reminded people to take appropriate precautions: “Happy Mother’s Day! With Mother’s Day this weekend, we know it will be especially hard for those who have to be away from family. But we must stay within our own communities, for now, to protect ourselves and those around us.”
