Gigi Hadid narrates new episode of Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever’
Part-Palestinian model Gigi Hadid has narrated a new episode of the Netflix series “Never Have I Ever,” she revealed on Instagram.
The catwalk star posted a teaser clip on Instagram on Thursday and wrote: “Had the best time getting to narrate a new episode of @ neverhaveiever — I got your back, Pax!”
“You may be asking yourself, ‘Why is old Gig-ers taking time out of her busy skedge to narrate the story of a 16-year-old boy?
(sic),” the 26-year-old says in the opening of the episode. “Believe it or not, I relate to this kid. We’re both constantly underestimated because people only see us as sex symbols. When scientists declare your face to be perfectly symmetrical, that’s all everyone thinks you have to offer the world. But we’ve got brains too, and feelings.”
The model’s supporters can listen to her voiceover during the third episode, “Never have I ever ... opened a textbook,” of the 10-episode series about an IndianAmerican teen, created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, which premiered on July 15.
Hadid replaced Chrissy Teigen in the new season.
Teigen’s exit from the role follows a cyberbullying scandal in June in which she admitted to having bullied American TV personality Courtney Stodden in the past.
In May, Stodden, 26, claimed to have been bullied by Teigen on social media in 2011 after marrying then 50-year-old actor Doug Hutchison when Stodden was a teenager.
The following month, Teigen released a statement, saying: “Not a single moment has passed where I haven’t felt the crushing weight of regret for the things I’ve said in the past.”
She added: “I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry.”
Hadid’s version of the narration is not very different from Teigen’s, according to media reports.
It’s not the Californiaborn model’s first time dabbling in the world of voice acting.
The mother of Khai recently made an appearance on the show “Scooby Doo & Guess Who.”
Hadid, who welcomed a baby girl with her partner, former One Direction star Zayn Malik, in September, featured in the program as herself.
