Multinatio­nal e-commerce platform Amazon launches new office in Riyadh

Multinatio­nal e-commerce platform Amazon has announced the opening of its new corporate office in Riyadh, as the company looks to better serve its Saudi customers, business partners, and employees.

Located in the Riyadh Front Tower, Amazon’s new location will pave the way for drawing more Saudi talent over and above the already existing 1,400 employees.

“We are pleased to inaugurate our new office in the capital of the Kingdom, confirming our commitment to serving Amazon customers, vendor partners, and employees in the Kingdom, as well as supporting its social and economic growth in line with the Saudi Vision 2030,” said Ronaldo Mouchawar, vice president of Amazon Middle East and North Africa.

Amazon said it is also working to launch an initiative to empower and train Saudi talent by meeting with employees working in various functions across the company.

“At Amazon, we talk about hiring builders who will help us invent and innovate on behalf of our customers. This means investing in the right talent and people who are equipped to be customer obsessed and to continuous­ly improve the customer experience,” said Abdo Chlala, director of the Gulf Cooperatio­n Council for Amazon MENA.

While details regarding the talent program are yet to be disclosed later this year, Amazon plans on meeting with homegrown talents and working hand in hand with them in diverse functions across the firm to inspire and train potential candidates.

“We will continue to develop our investment­s in the Kingdom across various sectors, including e-commerce, smart devices, and Amazon Payment Services, among others,” said Mouchawar.

Since its launch in 2020, Amazon has generated introduced several local programs and products in the Kingdom. It also increased its activities in many business sectors as well as lifted its investment­s across the country.
