Adonis

The Lebanese pop-rockers released their sixth studio album last month. The 10 tracks on “Hadis El Layl” (Night Talks), according to a statement from the band, “tell the adventures of a relationship’s grey zone — the excitement of new-found intimacy, the infinite possibilities of a raw attraction, and all the doubts and expectations that come with setting too many expectations.”

Xriss

The US-based Lebanese pop singer has released the first single from her upcoming EP. “Mister Mister” has — a press release claims — “become a staple in clubs from Miami to Dubai.” The track is a reflection of Xriss’ multicultural upbringing, blending influences from Middle Eastern music, the French language, and “the groove of Latino sensuality.”

Nurzy

The UAE-based Lebanese singer — a former member of girl group Carizma — has released her debut solo single “Zaker,” reportedly written during a power cut at her parent’s house in Lebanon and inspired by a breakup with a fellow musician. “I wrote about how I feel people always take a piece of myself with them when the relationship ends; a hopeless romantic who pours her heart out but loses herself in the process,” Nurzy said.

Bouchra Boudoua

The Moroccan artist recently teamed up with UAEbased social enterprise 81 Designs to create a pottery collection adorned with Palestinian embroidery (tatreez) created by female refugees living in Lebanon. “Autumn Harvest” was displayed at Abu Dhabi art last month. Bouchra explained: “Using clay as an embroidery support meant a lot of careful planning and meticulous handling … The result is a series of intricate, earthy colored ceramics.”
