Naomi Campbell spotted in Abu Dhabi
British supermodel Naomi Campbell was spotted in Abu Dhabi visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque this week.
The 52-year-old catwalk star shared images of herself at the touristic hotspot in the UAE wearing a leopard print abaya with a grey headscarf.
Campbell visited the mosque with her daughter. In some of the pictures she shared on Instagram, Campbell can be seen standing in one of the mosque’s halls holding her little girl’s hands.
“Splendor of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque,” she wrote on Instagram to her 14 million followers. “Thank you (for the) breathtaking tour,” she added, thanking the organizers.
Since announcing the arrival of her daughter in May 2021, Campbell has only shared a few images of her child whom she insisted is not adopted in a 2022 interview with British Vogue. Exact details around her daughter’s arrival are not known and when asked by the magazine if she would elaborate, she said: “She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child.”
Campbell, the queen of the 1990s runway, is no stranger to the Middle East.
She has visited Saudi Arabia multiple times and has now become a regular at the Red Sea International Film Festival, which takes place in December. She attended the 2022 and the 2021 editions in Jeddah.
In December 2022, she attended a gala dinner for a magazine in Riyadh while in October, she appeared in Qatar to launch a new global initiative called Emerge with Qatar Creates.
Through Emerge, the catwalk star co-hosted a charity gala and fashion show to support international creatives and business talents, with a focus on Africa, the diaspora and developing communities around the world. Campbell also attended the fourth edition of Fashion Trust Arabia Awards during her Qatar visit. It took place at the National Museum of Qatar and awarded renowned and aspiring creatives in fashion in the Middle East and North Africa region. The supermodel opted for a long-sleeved golden gown with a circular neckline and diamond-studded stones. Besides the Gulf region, Campbell also visited Egypt in 2021. One boomerang clip that she shared on Instagram at the time showed the then-50-year-old model jumping off a curb with the Great Pyramids of Giza in the background. Captioning the artistic clip, Campbell wrote: “Beautiful Egypt!”
