Establishe­d: 1972 About 1,000 fish species (one third of those living in waters surroundin­g Japan) can be found off Kashiwajim­a and Okinoshima. Coral reefs are dominated by beautiful table corals and soft corals, and are home to abundant macro life.

Divers must pay 150 yen (USD1.5) per person per day for environmen­tal conservati­on

GETTING THERE

Fly into Kochi Ryoma Airport, and then take a shuttle bus to Kochi Station (50 minutes). From Kochi Station, take the limited express to Sukumo (final stop), which takes just over two hours. It takes another 40 minutes by car from Sukumo
