Royal Brunei Airlines, the national carrier of Negara Brunei Darussalam, has recently been listed in the top 10 of the latest Skytrax’s Most Loved Airlines review for 2016. Based on customer reviews of 420 airlines, Skytrax – a consultancy running airline and airport reviews – unveiled their Top 80 list based on customer ratings across eight categories that included seat comfort, on-board services, food and beverage, in-flight entertainment, on-board Wi-fi, airport services, and value for money.
Royal Brunei has undergone key developments in recent months, such as the implementation of a streaming entertainment system, as well as new services to Zhengzhou, in east-central China, initiating a codeshare partnership with China Eastern Airlines, with seasonal charter services to Nanning, in the south of the country.
With a fleet of 10 aircraft comprising four B787-8 Dreamliners – offering an exclusive service from Melbourne to London – together with six A320200 units, Royal Brunei will add the B787-8 Dreamliner and up to 10 A320NEO aircraft in 2017. The airline is also known for operating one of the youngest long-haul fleets in the world.
From its hub at Brunei International Airport, Royal Brunei offers regional and international destinations in Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. It also has code-share partnerships with Turkish Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Thai Airways and Maswings, and an extensive interline partnership with British Airways, Virgin Australia, Qantas, Emirates, Safi Airways, Fly Dubai and Air New Zealand, making it one of the world’s truly global airlines.
The ASIAN Geographic Hot Soup Challenge returns for another year to put Singapore’s kids in the quiz hot seat and challenge their general knowledge about Asia. The school challenge will run in April 2017 under the theme of Climate Change. Students will have the opportunity to study up on relevant issues through the January edition, which will address issues relating to global warming. This year’s challenge will also dovetail with the Asia Dive Expo, which runs at Suntec from 7–9 April. The contest is broken down into three categories: • Junior (age 7–12) • Students (age 12–18) • Open Category (age 18 and above)
