Dear Readers,

Before we start the second issue of Horizons, we would first like to say a big “Thank You” to all of you – our readers, because you helped to make our first issue a great success! We hope that Horizons continues to ignite the passion for reading and encourage the thirst for knowledge with its updates on the latest events and captivating stories.

In this issue, we invited our writers to write about the topics that got them interested in reading when they were teenagers, and they decided to bring us on a journey around the world! We visit the nearby land of Laos to discover its hidden cultural treasures and mysterious beauty, and even venture into the deep waters of Scotland to find out the truth behind the Lochness monster. However, as we bring the focus back to Singapore’s shores, we are reminded that not all journeys are all fun and games. In Singapore Scenery, we look back at some of Singapore’s past tragedies, recall the united fighting spirit among Singaporeans, reflect on these lessons of history and appreciate Singapore’s journey to the present day.
