Seafood, Sweets and Other Treats

Three- in- one concept restaurant Sessions has opened at the Hard Rock Hotel Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa, giving you the chance to experience succulent seafood, all-day dessert and cooking classes, all under one roof – and with Hard Rock’s rock and roll edge, of course, echoed throughout the décor.

The “Crab Sessions” portion of the restaurant features a vast selection of seafood favourites daily, including classic Singapore chilli crab and Louisiana gumbo. ( Don’t miss the weekend buffet dinner – $75 per adult; $37.50 per child).

Meanwhile, “Sweet Sessions” is a patisserie helmed by award- wining RWS Executive Pastry Chef Kenny Kong, dishing out creative desserts like molasses griddle cakes with peanut butter and passionfruit crème, chocolate balloon melts, and a frozen yoghurt and floss tower. And, for those looking for a fun activity with family or friends, the fully-equipped studio, “Cooking Sessions”, offers hands- on cooking lessons under the guidance of a celebrity chef or resident culinary expert – from cupcake decoration for the little ones to fine-dining, multi-course cook-off competitions for grown-ups.

For reservations, call 6577 6567 or email sessions@ rwsentosa. com.

The Cheapskate: Prices are nett, and all highballs are sub-$20. Don’t miss the happy hour deals, too; from Monday to Saturday, 4pm to 8pm, housepours and wines go for $10, while mojitos are $15.

Bite on this: If you’re looking for a spot with an extensive food menu, Highball wouldn’t be the first place I’d recommend. Apart from regular bar- bites like the sausage platter ($18), there aren’t too many options. Just have your dinner at one of the myriad food stalls along the same stretch before popping by for a drink or two.

Last but not least: The beautiful ice balls in each highball are made using a Japan-imported Hoshizaki ice machine, with every ball going through quality inspection for size, roundness and transparency before it passes the test!
