Insider tip!
After a chemical peel, your skin tends to be more sensitive to the sun. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect against damaging UVA rays (which cause wrinkles and spots) and UVB rays (which burn the superficial layer). Remember, both UVA and UVB rays cause premature ageing and skin cancer.
Spectra Laser Peel
Acne-prone or oily skin will benefit from the Spectra Laser Peel. It’s a quick and gentle procedure, and an effective skin refresher with less downtime than some other laser treatments. As well as minimising sebum production, unclogging pores and reducing pore size, this peel also reduces acne scarring and smoothens skin texture.
The experience:
The specialised laser energy applied to the skin works in two ways: first, to target the melanin pigment found in the basal layer of the epidermis; and second, to heat up the dermis so as to stimulate collagen production. It helps to reduce acne inflammation, control oil production and cleanse pores, as well as to improve the appearance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Visible improvements – especially to active acne – can be seen after the first treatment. For best results, a series of six treatments at intervals of two to three weeks is recommended.
