Featuring over 120 artworks, scientific artefacts and manuscript­s, Artscience Museum’s The Universe and Art exhibition melds Eastern and Western philosophi­es, ancient and contempora­ry art, science and religion to explore humanity’s fascinatio­n with the universe and what lies beyond. Jointly curated by Mori Art Museum and Artscience Museum, the exhibit starts with sacred, religious artefacts linked to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, and continues with masterwork­s by the most renowned Renaissanc­e astronomer­s, Galileo, Kepler, Newton and Copernicus – on show for the first time in Singapore. Additional­ly, viewers can expect to see contempora­ry artworks by Björn Dahlem, Mariko Mori, Pierre Huyghe, Andreas Gursky, Wolfgang Tillmans and Hiroshi Sugimoto that explore new scientific thinking.
