That’s why the Singtheatre bedside initiative to bring music, storytelling and good cheer to paediatric wards at National University Hospital (NUH) is so heart-warming. The region’s top dragon boat teams will row the glassy waters of Marina Bay for prizemoney, plus there are opportunities to play skipper on an 18-metremast sailboat. If you fell captive to the charms of blockbuster British period drama Downton Abbey, this exhibition is for you. Singapore is the first date on the global tour of an exhibition that brings fans up close and personal with the leading characters, storylines, costumes and sets: Mrs Patmore’s hectic kitchen, the gossip-fuelled servants’ quarters, and the glamorous staterooms inhabited by the Earl of Grantham and his family.
