Swim Scholarships
Ahead of the opening of the Aquatics Centre at its new campus in January 2020, Nexus International School (Singapore) is offering 25, 50 and 75 percent swimming scholarships. The scholarships include a team kit, daily nutritious breakfast, Olympic swimming clinics, overseas trips and personalised coaching. Led by Coach Bunakov, the school’s swim squad has groomed several national age group champions, some now on the Olympic watch list. Going Green
Stamford American International School has collaborated with Sun Electric and installed solar panels. A student-led initiative, the project was started in October 2017 by two students from the Stamford Green Lions Club. The 845 solar panels installed are able to produce about 426 MWH of solar electricity yearly and will offset around 200 metric tons of carbon. sais.edu.sg
Career in Design
GEMS World Academy (Singapore) has launched a partnership with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) to offer students aged from 16 to 18 the chance to do the International Baccalaureate (IB) Career-related Programme. The programme combines key IB courses with university-level tuition from art and design lecturers from SCAD’S faculty. Students can register for the specialist programme in Grades 11 and 12. gwa.edu.sg
Festive Shopping
It’s not too late to soak in the festive atmosphere at Cluny Court’s Christmas Fair and Market. The fair features a mix of stalls selling unique Christmas gifts, decorations, party outfits, Christmas trees, festive goodies and more, from hand-poured candles and handmade ceramic tableware to wine and glutenfree snacks. Father Christmas will be in his grotto (until 16 December) and there will be a carolling session by Vox Camerata (12pm to 12.30pm) on 15 December.
