New Year’s Eve:

Two great countdown ideas

-

Opened just last year but already a buzzy dining and drinks destination in its own right, Andaz Singapore (5 Fraser Street) has plenty of festivities planned for the holiday season. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly feast for welcoming 2019 or a full-on dance party, the hotel’s got an NYE celebration for you.

Buffet Bash

Inspired by the intimate alleyways and street dining of the surrounding Kampong Glam, Little India and Bras Basah Bugis cultural districts, Alley on 25 features six individual dining and drinking spots, each with its own distinct preparation style – from sustainable seafood on ice to Asian barbecue, comfort food and roasts. And, for New Year’s Eve, chef Soren Lascelles presents extra-special grill and seafood offerings such as Australian lamb chops, prime beef rib eye, Canadian lobster, Atlantic cod fillet, chilli crab, stir-fried black Angus beef and steamed black grouper, plus a live dessert station with cherries flambé served a la minute. Top it all off with an eyeful of the dazzling fireworks display and the hotel’s fabulous views! The New Year’s Eve dinner buffet (6 to 10pm) is $138 per adult, or $188 with free-flow alcoholic beverages (think festive favourites like eggnog, mulled wine and champagne, plus wine and beer); kids aged six to 12 dine for $69.

Rooftop Revelry

Bid adieu to 2018 with stunning 360-degree views, street food, bubbly and music at Andaz Singapore’s rooftop spot, Mr Stork. Sit in one of the bar’s Insta-worthy teepees, or dance the night away to DJ Jagi and The Partyman’s tracks from 9pm – and don’t miss the fireworks display at midnight! Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Countdown Party start from $188 and are inclusive of free-flow hot snacks, sparkling wines and Andaz’s own Pale Ale from 9pm to 1am. VIP tickets ($238) are also available, and come with guaranteed seating at the VIP fireworks viewing area, with additional free-flow Delamotte champagne, spirits and snacks.
