Train Travel:

See Switzerland in style

-

There’s a lot to love about train travel in general – no hassle of hiring and driving a car; no traffic to contend with; just a seat with a view. And that view, if you happen to be on the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland, is nothing short of stunning.

About the Tour

The Grand Train Tour of Switzerland combines the country’s most beautiful panoramic railway lines into one unique route of around 1,280 kilometres, taking travellers through delightful Swiss cities, picturesque Alpine resorts and more. You can do as little or as much of it as you want, and you can start at any point, any time of the year, summer through winter – it’s up to you!

Of the eight sections on the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland, one major highlight for travellers is St. Moritz – Lugano. Aside from being a glamorous Alpine resort, St. Moritz is famous for the Bernina Express, a train that connects the cool north with the sunny south and takes travellers over the highest railway route of the Alps. The stretch between Thusis and Tirano is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with spectacular mountain views. It’s also where the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland reaches its highest point (2,253 metres).
