I got the Jonsson Protein Pro-Hair Shampoo 702 ($40) for normal hair as part of a free trial offer and I love it. It’s so soft on your hair and makes blow-drying easier too, with less frizz. It’s only available at their outlets, but definitely worth seeking out. If you’ve got thinning hair, their package deal is great. It works out to around $36 for a session of steaming, treatment and a fab blow-dry! It’s cheaper than a normal blow-dry at most salons, and I saw little sprouts of new hair after just three sessions. – Rebecca Bisset

I like Naturals by Watsons Olive Shampoo ($12.90) as it cleanses both my scalp and hair really well. It leaves my hair feeling moisturised even without the use of a conditioner, plus it doesn’t leave me with an oily scalp, despite being in a hijab for at least 10 hours a day! – Siti Shahirah

The Aquis Prime Restorative Leave-in Conditioner ($38) is a lightweight mist that helps to condition and smoothen damp hair. I’ve been using it every night for a month and love how convenient it is. A few spritzes on my tresses and a quick blow-dry later, and I’m ready for bed! I do feel that it works by making my ends less frizzy, but you also have to make sure not to spray too close to your roots or else it can feel a tad heavy. – Anthia Chng

I use the Botanist Botanical Raspberry & Apricot Hair Mask

($32) twice a week to give my damaged locks some extra care. It’s made of natural ingredients like rosemary and avocado. I love its fruity scent and the fact that my hair feels smoother right after I rinse it off! – Lindsay Yap

I’ve been bleaching my hair for years now, so I’m always looking for nourishing masks to hydrate my ends – trust me, I have about a dozen! The Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask ($53) is the only one I love. It’s super hydrating without making my hair feel heavy or sticky after. Plus, there are over 6,000 reviews and a 4.5-star rating on Google to back me up! – Michaela Bisset

I’ve been using Marc Anthony shampoos and conditioners ($17.90) regularly for almost 10 years. These products are sulphate-free, which prevents scalp residue build-up. This allows me to go a couple of days longer without having to wash my hair! There’s also a great range of products for different hair types. My current favourite is the Grow Long collection. The antibreakage and colour-protection formula helps keep my waist-long tresses looking soft and healthy. – Liana Talib-Keddie

Olaplex has long had an army of women vouching for its results online, so two months ago I decided to put the Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector ($46) to the test. I added it to my haircare routine; a small amount on damp hair twice a week, leaving it for 15 minutes before resuming my regular shampoo and conditioner routine. Despite the high price tag for just a small 100ml bottle, I find that the product goes a long way. Plus, the results are proving effective – I’ve noticed less breakage, reduced frizz, more shine and an overall healthier hair condition. – Leanda Rathmell
