Available fresh from the site is organic, free-range chicken from Bostock Brothers, an award-winning, sustainably-run farm in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. The hormone- and antibiotic-free chickens range freely on the farm’s organic apple orchards, consuming lots of fresh apples, greens, herbs and insects. To supplement their diet, they’re given a wholesome feed of certified-organic corn and barley, both of which are grown on the farm. The chicken manure is then broken down into compost to fertilise the fields post-harvest, replenishing nutrients back into the soil and completing a perfect circle of life on the farm’s operations. The chicken is also air-chilled without washing in chlorine water, before it’s packed and sealed for freshness. The result of these efforts is chicken that’s not only better for you and the environment, but also has a superior taste and texture.
