About the SSVP in Singapore

-

The Society of St Vincent de Paul was founded in Paris in 1833, with the aim of helping the people who lived in the city’s poorest areas. Its Singapore chapter started in 1951, prompted by the island’s struggles in the wake of World War II and the Japanese Occupation. Today, more than 700 women and men, including volunteers, serve in 30 conferences across Singapore.
