Ripple Effect

EL’s KARIN GALLEY finds a waterbased workout that’s not only great for keeping fit but for some mother-daughter bonding too!

-

Ever since my daughter returned to Singapore earlier this year, we’ve been trying to find ways to spend more time together. With both of us working full-time and having busy schedules, we wanted something that would fit into our routine. We realised that the simplest way to connect was by embracing a weekend fitness routine.

I had already tried some of The Ripple Club classes and really enjoyed them. So, I got her to try a Saturday class with me – and it’s turned out to be the perfect mother-daughter bonding activity we’d been searching for!

The Ripple Club has a wide range of aqua workouts that work every muscle in your body. What’s great is the infectious energy of the workouts, thanks to the pulsating music that keeps us motivated even during the most challenging sessions!

The team releases a new set of workouts every three months, complete with a new sequence of exercises and a fresh playlist. It’s a fantastic way to keep us engaged and motivated, knowing that there’s always something new to look forward to.

My daughter’s absolute favourite is the Ripple Signature class, an aqua spinning class that also includes your arms and abs. As for me, I’ve developed a soft spot for the Ripple Boxing Class, a full body workout that will get your heart rate up and work on both cardio and strength.

What makes these workouts a gem for all ages is the flexibility they offer. With our age difference, it was a bit tricky to find a workout that challenged us both. However, in Ripple classes, we can each go at our own pace and still work out together.

Another perk is the multitude of locations where classes are held. Our go-to spot is Fairmont Singapore, where post-workout we can indulge in a treat – sipping on fresh pineapple juice by the hotel pool. It’s a ritual that we look forward to and a nice reward that makes every class even better.

What makes The Ripple Club special is the dedication of the instructors. They not only guide us through the workouts but also infuse each class with positivity and lots of encouragement. It’s like having your own personal cheerleader, motivating you to push your limits.

Now we have transformed our Saturday mornings into a cherished mother-daughter tradition. It’s our special time each week where we bond, laugh and encourage each other to be our best. Combining quality time with an invigorating workout and the unique joy of splashing in the water is immensely rewarding – and a whole lot of fun!

The Ripple Club offers a diverse range of aqua workouts across Singapore. Find out more by calling 9698 9202 or visiting therippleclub.fit.
