Overseas Family School

-

We moved from the Netherlands to Singapore in July 2022 and both our daughters have attended Overseas Family School (OFS) since then. Malu is in Grade 3 and Nina is in Pre-K2 now.

Malu is the only one in the family who speaks Dutch; we speak Portuguese at home. When we arrived, we looked for a school where she could keep practising the language. The Mother Tongue language programme at OFS was a key point for our decision. After one and a half years, she has also become fluent in English due to OFS’s English acquisition programme.

We were also concerned for Nina as she was born during the pandemic and OFS was her first school. On top of that, she couldn’t speak a word of English.

To our surprise, her adaptation to OFS was very easy and smooth. She loves going to school and she’s now more independent. She has many friends and always has fun with the school activities.

The curriculum offers a solid foundation in life skills. Academically, the teachers are well prepared, kind and creative. The community is diverse and helpful.

Both our daughters are very fond of their teachers, who are kind, creative and respectful. We have a supportive community at OFS, a safe learning environment, consistent and purposeful feedback for our children’s development and the facilities are incredible. Even though it’s a big school, it feels small and homey.

The most important thing for us is seeing our daughters going to school every day with big smiles on their faces. We’re very happy with this school and truly recommend it.
