TREND REPORT FALL/ WINTER 2017

-

The most lust-worthy clothes and accessories from the new season

Outrageous hats as crowns for a new breed of adventure seekers, ’90s power suits for the boardroom risk-taker and lashings of shine and glitter for the eclectic magpie— the fall/winter 2017 season covered all bases and dressed the multi-faceted woman in colour, respect and a whole lot of sass. ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND

Designers went down the rabbit hole, conjuring an array of fantastical headgear fit for the Mad Hatter. From dapper fedoras to sculptural fascinators, there’s no reason for Alice to turn up at the tea party not dressed to theme. Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri, for example, topped her 68 passages of midnight blue creations with berets. Elsewhere, Miuccia Prada kitted her Miu Miu girls with kitschy, ushanka-like variations. John Galliano at Maison Margiela turned things on their head—quite literally—by parading inverted bags as hats on his models. Curiouser and curiouser!
