Runway to heaven

It took an hour’s drive from Kyoto to reach the Miho Museum, but the venue for Louis Vuitton’s cruise 2018 presentation was well worth the trip. Set amidst the lush valley of the Shiga Mountains, the impressive glass and concrete structure played the perfect host to Nicolas Ghesquière’s collection; which paid homage to Japan and all its cultural trappings with the designer’s characteristic modern flair.With people fighting for spots on the runway to take selfies before and after the presentation, it seems the brand’s guests—including celebrities like Michelle Williams, Jennifer Connelly, Fan Bing Bing, Sophie Turner and Isabelle Huppert— thoroughly approved of the affair.
