OFFICE POLITICS
Girl power was writ large this season, especially in the suits that powered many of the collections forward with an indomitable force. From Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton to Calvin Klein’s Raf Simons, designers brokered a sweet deal for the working woman and presented a comprehensive selection of twopiece suits that combined Wall Street smarts with power tailoring. Meanwhile, over at Jil Sander, Dries Van Noten and Céline, suits took on a ’90s working girl slant and were cut generous for a louche, slouchy fit.
