Twenty-two-year-old Manfred Lim goes by the name Myrne, a moniker inspired by David Byrne, the lead singer of influential band Talking Heads. “I decided to replace the first letter of his last name with mine,” the electronic dance music (EDM) producer says. In the time since he’s taught himself the ropes of DJ-ing, the sophomore at Singapore Management University has gone on to be signed under Mad Decent, the record label founded by Grammy Award-winning producer Diplo.
